Nowadays RAID 0 is one of the most popular disk arrays.
It is explained by the fact that it can be easily created using either tools of operating system or a standalone controller.
The main RAID 0 advantage is a performance increase, especially with write speed.
The prime disadvantage of RAID 0 is a lack of data redundancy.
Therefore, if one of the member disks fails, it is impossible to recover RAID 0.
If RAID0 failure is not associated with disk failure, for example if a controller failed in case of a hardware RAID0 or
you did something wrong when administrating your RAID0, there are two approaches to RAID0 recovery: automatic and manual.
Automatic RAID0 recovery requires you to disconnect the disks from the RAID0, connect them to a PC, preferably directly to the motherboard,
and use a special RAID0 recovery software. This way is straightforward and doesn't require any specific skills.
For more details please refer to the automatic RAID0 recovery page.
Manual RAID0 recovery implies detecting RAID0 parameters by analyzing data on array member disks with a disk editor.
This way is suitable for those who have a fairly deep knowledge of RAID technology, experience with disk editors, and a lot of free time.
For more details please refer to the manual RAID0 recovery page.
